International relations and main international actions
Yanka Kupala State University carries out international activities within the framework of 259 cooperation agreements with foreign universities and organizations from 32 countries. The University is also a member of 19 international associations and networks. It implements 17 joint educational programs with foreign educational institutions. Today we have 8 joint educational institutions with People’s Republic of China.
Staff and students of YKSUG visit foreign universities and organizations to undergo training/internships, share experiences, give lectures, conduct researches and participate in international projects, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, cultural events, sporting and other activities within the framework of Intergovernmental agreements, International cooperation agreements etc.
For the first time in 2015 Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno held Russian Language Summer School, brought together 26 participants. In addition to the Russian language classes participants had an opportunity to enjoy fascinating excursions around Grodno and Belarus and also took part in meetings with local craftsmen who held workshops on traditional folk art for the guests.

Living conditions for foreign students
Each foreign student is provided with a place in the university hostel.
Residence in the hostel of the University (depending on a room and facilities of the hostel) - 30-50 USD per month.
How to Apply
Foreign citizens wishing to study at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno need to obtain an invitation, which will allow them to open a visa to study at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus.
To receive an official invitation, a foreign citizen must attach the following documents to the foreign applicant's Digital Account:
- a copy of passport or other identity document;
- a copy of the document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) obtained in the examinations;
- a copy of the birth certificate (if you are under the age of 18 at the time of submitting the documents);
- HIV- free certificate.
!Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Documents can be notarized either in the country of citizenship or upon arrival in Belarus. Except for notarization of the identity document, which must be done on the territory of Belarus.
In addition to the documents previously attached in the Digital Account, you must have the following original documents:
- Passport or other identification document.
- Document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (scores) received in the examinations.
- Certificate of recognition of the document on education and establishing its equivalence (conformity) to the document on education of the Republic of Belarus (in the absence of an agreement on mutual recognition of documents on education) - for applicants for bachelor's, master's and postgraduate studies.
- Birth certificate (if you are under the age of 18 at the time of submitting the documents).
- Medical report on the state of health issued by a health care institution of the Republic of Belarus.
- HIV- free certificate.
- Medical insurance policy (countries for which insurance is optional - Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others).
- 6 photographs (3X4 cm).
Each document in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Belarusian or Russian. Additionally, enrolment in the university requires:
- To undergo a compulsory medical examination in a health care institution of Republic of Belarus. The obtained medical report on the state of health must be submitted to the university for admission;
- To pass an interview in the language of instruction (Russian/English);
- To pass an additional interview on the subject - in case of admission to the magistracy; on the discipline "Art" or "Physical Education and Sports" - in case of admission to the corresponding specialties;
- To draw up a contract for training;
- Pay the tuition fee at the university (payment is made within 45 working days after the conclusion of the training contract) for 1 semester or academic year.
Inform the Department of Recruitment and Registration of Foreign Citizens about the date of arrival in the Republic of Belarus no later than 3 days before arrival (education [at] grsu [dot] by);
On the day of crossing the border of the Republic of Belarus or on the day following it, you should apply to Recruiting and registration of international citizens department, which is located at Lenina Street, 32-2, Grodno.
THE CENTER FOR PRE-UNIVERSITY EDUCATION.
We provide educational services for the educational program for the preparation of persons for admission to educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus:
Preparatory department for foreign citizens,
Preparatory courses for foreign citizens "Russian as a foreign language".
Documents are accepted all year round.
In order to receive an invitation, foreign citizens and stateless persons must provide the following documents to the university:
• a copy of the educational document indicating the subjects studied and the grades (points) obtained on them in exams;
• translation of the document on education with indication of the subjects studied and the grades (points) obtained on them in exams into Belarusian or Russian, certified by a notary;
• a copy of your passport or other identity document;
!translation of a passport or other identity document into Belarusian or Russian, certified by a notary.

Upon arrival to study in Grodno, a foreign citizen (a stateless person) must contact the Recruiting and Registration of International Citizens Department of the Education Internalization Centre at the address: Grodno, Lenina str, 32 - 2, for settlement and registration and the Center For Pre-University Education at the address: Grodno, per.Telegraphny, 15a, office 203, having personally submitted the following documents to the admissions committee:
• application for admission to study in the prescribed form;
• a document on education indicating the subjects studied and the grades (points) obtained on them in exams;
• the conclusion of the medical advisory commission issued by the territorial health organization of the Republic of Belarus (after passing a mandatory medical examination in the direction of the educational institution);
• a medical report on the state of health and a certificate of absence of HIV infection issued by the official health authority of the country from which the candidate arrived for study, and valid at the time of arrival in the Republic of Belarus;
• a duly certified copy of the birth certificate;
• 6 3 x 4 cm photos.
The listed documents executed in a foreign language are accompanied by their translation into Belarusian or Russian, certified by a notary.

Cultural life
There are more than 25 fraternities of foreign students at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, fraternities have pages in social networks Instagram. An Alumni Association of foreign citizens has been established, represented in various social networks. The project "Commonwealth" is being implemented, the main goal of which is to educate students of high culture of interethnic communication.
